Description:

Mark Parent's appointment secretary called, telling us that the Minister will NOT be available on Thursday evening.

She also added that he would prefer (1) to hold a lecture/symposium in which no questions are asked; or, (2) a private meeting with a small number of CoC and Sierra Club members. You are free to read in between the lines...

On Thursday April 12th, the local chapters of the Sierra Club and the Council of Canadians are co-hosting a public meeting with NS Minister of the Environment Mark Parent.

At the minister's request, the two organizations have submitted written questions to Mark on a variety of important environmental issues affecting Nova Scotia, including (but not confined to) the issue of the proposed basalt mega-quarry on Digby Neck, and its implications for future similar projects all along the North Mountain and elsewhere in Nova Scotia.

The second half of the meeting will open to the audience. It will be a golden opportunity for YOU to ask Mark any questions you may have concerning Nova Scotia's environment.

Come one, come all !! EVERYONE is welcome to attend this event.
