Digital Days Disaster
Fundy Film Digital Days Up-Date - Saturday, 6 pm
With much regret we announce that the Saturday WACKY and Close Encounters screenings have had to be cancelled and also both Fundy Film screenings for Sunday (Room with a View and Fundy Filmmakers Night 1). We apologise for the disappointment to anyone who may have planned to attend any of these and to those who may show up because they did not receive information in time.
Bill has arranged with Acadia for a projector (underpowered) for the Acadia event which will take place at 2:00 pm as originally scheduled. Hurrah! This projector is completely unsuitable for either of Fundy Film’s screenings, but even if it were, it would not be available to us because Acadia's new policy is that they will no longer rent to anyone off campus.
There are many fascinating details to this story but in a nutshell: Purolator does not know where the projector is. In contrast to the lens, which was originally picked up with it as a separate package for shipment on the 23rd, and arrived at its final destination (Backman Vidcom - Halifax) by air on Thursday at noon, for some reason the projector was “bumped” from the flight early Thursday morn, was not sent out on any subsequent flights, was scanned back into the Ontario hub and was never scanned again. They now suspect it may be on a truck coming to Moncton but it will not be unloaded until Sunday evening. Believe us when we say we have done everything in our power to coerce them to get the truck unloaded tonight (Saturday) so that the projector could reach us by Sunday. (It will take about an hour to set it up as all other prep has been readied.)
IF the projector is on the truck and IF it arrives on Monday in time, this is what the sadly revised Digital Days schedule will be:
Monday - Fundy Filmmakers Night 2 - 7 pm
Tuesday La Bohème - 7 pm
Wednesday - Fundy Filmmakers Night 1 - 7 pm
Please check our web site and watch for community lists notices for the next up-date. Fundy Film will reschedule Up the Yangtze for the Spring (we hope) and Madame Tutli-Putli is apparently a short before The Tracey Fragments screening scheduled for March 9.
We thank you for your understanding and for helping us reach people.
A special Tip of the Hat and hug for George St. Amour who changed the reader board under the marquee today and put up signs at the theatre while we were in Dartmouth.
