Before you know it, it will be Deep Roots Festival time and to raise funds for the coming festival there will be a blues extravaganza at the Whittle on May 17th. The Hupmans promise to rip it up and it's been TOO LONG since we've seen the Carson Downey Band in the valley. How about this for a quick list of CDB accolades:

"Maple Blues Award" nominations for "Best New Artist" and "Drummer of the Year."

"Fender Guitarist of the Year Award" at the East Coast Music Awards

the "Dutch Mason Award," for his exceptional contributions to the preservation of Maritime blues music. And if that's not enough, the band also won a pair of "African Nova Scotian Music Awards" and two other East Coast Music Awards:, including "Blues Artist/Group of the Year" and "New Artist/Group."
